Valentine’s Day Chocolate Fondue Dessert Platter; melting bowls of creamy chocolate with a lavish layout of fruits, nibbles and treats. Much more fun than going out!
Valentine’s Day recipes, Valentine’s Day ideas, Valentine’s Day gifts. Just some of the many seasonal searches being hammered into keyboards across the country this week.
Husbands hurriedly grab cheap bouquets of flowers from petrol stations. Girlfriends pose for Instagram pictures of them being treated to a steak dinner. Teenagers buy each other little stuffed bears. Single people make my Microwave Chocolate Chip Cookie For One…ok maybe not all of them do, but they should.
No matter how fresh or aged your relationship may be, there is still an expectation to spend money on this heart-shaped celebration of capitalism. It’s a date that isn’t significant in your life or your partner’s, but in the name of social normalcy you should drop some cash on a posh dinner or box of chocolates.
Isn’t there something a little tedious about that though?
Of course some men, women, or anyone in between or outwith, may like receiving roses and cards. However, many of us could definitely step our Valentine’s Day game up. After all, if they’re worth a predictable dinner, they’re worth a little effort.
Take a wee gander at this Valentine’s Day Chocolate Fondue Dessert Platter. It’s eye-catching, it’s abundant, and frankly it’s quite ridiculous.
This Valentine’s Day Chocolate Fondue Dessert Platter can be a girly night in with gin and tonic, a romantic evening in front of Netflix, or a sticky-fingered route to an afternoon of wild sex. No matter how you choose to devour it, you’ll forget about posh dinner-for-two deals and cheap chocolate boxes in no time.
The most wonderful thing about this Valentine’s Day Chocolate Fondue Dessert Platter is its potential for customisation. Does your girl love sweet and salty together? Does your new boyfriend have an extraordinary fascination with an annoyingly niche biscuit? Sorted. Build it up and make it your own.
The only thing I deeply insist on, is the use of good chocolate in your fondue component. You can make one, two or even three chocolate fondue dips. Dark chocolate for fluffy marshmallows, milk chocolate for savoury crackers, white chocolate for tangy berries. Make sure you utilise chocolate that you’d happily eat on its own (like this, or even this), don’t just settle for the nonsense.
Once you’ve spent a mere few minutes melting the luxurious pools of chocolate, all you have to do is arrange some things prettily on a board. Very 2020, eh?
To make this Valentine’s Day Chocolate Fondue Dessert Platter, simply follow the recipe below! You can scale it up or down, depending on appetites. Heck, you can even just make one for yourself if you want!
